Force-Free Holistic Dog Training in York
Holistic, force-free support for anxious dogs and complex behaviour challenges.
The Poochie People helps dog guardians get to the root of anxiety, separation struggles, and complex behaviour so they can move forward with a clear, achievable plan.

Get to the Root of Your Dog's Behaviour
When your dog is anxious, overwhelmed, or behaving in ways that are hard to manage, quick tips rarely solve the whole problem.
The Poochie People takes a holistic, force-free approach to dog training and behaviour support. Nicola looks at the full picture, including your dog's history, nutrition, movement, posture, home environment, emotional wellbeing, and daily routines, so the plan is built around what your dog actually needs.
This is especially helpful for dogs with separation anxiety, fears, phobias, or behaviour challenges that have not improved with generic advice.

Meet Nicola
The Poochie People is led by Nicola Cook, a force-free trainer based in York, UK.
Nicola has been in business since 2020 and has been training professionally since 2021. She is a Victoria Stilwell Positively Dog Trainer (VSPDT) and a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT).
Her path into dog training was inspired by her own adopted dog, Twinkle, who came with plenty of behaviour challenges. Living with and learning from Twinkle shaped Nicola's mission: to help people understand their dogs more deeply, especially when behaviour feels confusing, emotional, or hard to live with.
